TIME TRAVEL

If I were to meet people from the past, I would want to meet the Egyptians, because they are very “civilized” at that time. Another reason I want to meet the Egyptians is because of their awesome super structures, their interesting traditions, their mysterious history and unbelievable ideas.

So what are their traditions? How about those super structures? The mysterious history? And the ideas? Well, since I’m meeting them I can know and (here comes the good part) you are coming with me, so lets go!

All right the first thing we want to see is the super structures (sorry mate you may not want it but well, majority wins) so one of the super structures is the PYRAMID OF GIZA. Which was the tallest structure in the world for over 3,800 years! It is also the only remanding Seven Wonders of the World, which took 20,000 men 20 years to built it, what a rich pharaoh! The pyramid was 230.33m square and 146.59m tall! All this for a dead king.

Now the traditions! The Egyptians believed that the first few animals were their gods; ha for such clever people they are quite dumb. But to the Egyptians they were very important one god to help the crops and another for war and there are many more. But we Christians need only one God to protect us.

Now lets find the mysteries of Egypt! “Yucky!” I just stepped on something slimy, anyway I am in the tomb of the pharaoh Khufu I got treated with VIP access and I am beginning to regret it. This place is very creepy, slimy, dirty and scary. One mysterious mystery is how they built the gigantic pyramid, until now we still can’t make sure… that’s why it’s still a mystery. “Ouch!” “What” “oh oh”

Here is the most interesting part, their ideas. The Egyptians were very clever they could build gigantic pyramids, move a super tall tower from one place to another and make it stand from horizontal to vertical by shifting just the sand and digging a hole! But… I actually have a choice, I could go back to my modern civilization or stay here… just imagine what I could do here, I could learn the hieroglyphics and share the knowledge, hem… I’m staying!

Poem: The Story of Harriet

The Story of Harriet

Inspired by the book

Freedom Train

In her masters bed room,

She sweeps around with a broom.

In the kitchen, she washes all the dishes,

And grants all her masters wishes.

Up and down the stairs she goes,

Folding all the clothes in rows.

Work, work here, work, work there,

Her master and mistress don’t even care.

The dishes as clean as a crown,

Won’t make her master frown.

Workers work for money,

But slaves don’t get a penny.

This is a story of a slave.

Remember, don’t buy a slave…

Or you’ll put her in a grave.

Personification : Kevin's Adventure

Kevin's Adventure
(A Gold Nugget Journey)

Oh no we have been found! Finally I, Kevin the gold nugget will head for the strange light and explore the unexplored.

My journey starts when I head for the light. I can hear shovels digging, strange pans shaking and a strange tool which it’s name exceeds my mind. I can see hairy creatures call humans trying to find my friends to trade for things or as they say it “pay” to “buy” things. I can smell a strongly smelly smell that comes from water given out from the hairy creatures. I can feel the soiled ground shaking because of the tools hitting the ground. I can almost taste their strange water just by looking at the amount of the strange water that drips into an opening in the bottom of their heads (their mouth) even though I do not know how it taste like.

Suddenly one of the hairy creatures dug me up and put me in shaped box with shaped metal on the bottom of it. I struggled to get to the top of the box to get a clear view and I saw that I was moving straight to the light. Then everything became bright, and I hurried to get out. Finally, I got out but fell, and I felt a flat surface but it wasn’t dirt, it was a floor. I spent days and days there but it only felt like hours. I go around the place seeing people polishing my friends like mad, and people kissing them. I always had a place to sleep, because in this place, anywhere is fine. But suddenly, a strange pinch on my sides woke me up. Then a sudden scream, then a jump, more humans came, they looked directly at me. I was so shocked that I fainted. I was woken by a wet squeeze (the human is biting me to test if I am real) it was not long before I found out that I was being tested and then traded for something, I scurried to jump of the table, I ran and ran, but a sudden shock of sound, and a raise of dirt made me look behind, it was the shopkeeper! He was holding a stick with two holes (a gun) pointing at me, I ran faster and faster, I barely felt my feet then I spotted the shaped box but I wasn’t ready to go yet, so I looked harder, I couldn’t see anything then, I fell in a hole. And I lost him so I got out, and I saw the human turning around, I ran again, but this time I came into a shop, I lost him again but this time he gave up. I looked around I found a map and another and another then it was obvious that I was in a map shop then I saw a ball it was so big, then I spun it a red dot caught my eye I stopped it I read it, and I was amazed, it said “we are here in the world”.

It was amazing, it took me days to go thought the city, I don’t even think I went through half the city, I just hope I can live to see everything in the world, that, my friend is were my journey really, begins…
